Monthly fee
The School of Mathematics charges a fee. In Finland, education is compulsory until the age of 18 and upper secondary school is free of charge; our students complete that free, compulsory part at Tietotie Upper Secondary School in Valkeakoski. The fee covers what the School of Mathematics adds on top. The summer term in the first summer consists of three seven-day study weeks with full board and costs €200 per week, €600 in total. It is made up of mathematics weeks and programming weekends, which lay a solid foundation for later studies and for the work placement.
During the autumn and spring terms, the student’s own contribution is €295 per month of the school year. Study trips may be organised during the programme at extra cost.
The same fees apply to all students, whatever their nationality. We reserve the right to change the fees. Please ask for current fees when you register.
What the fee covers
Besides teaching, the monthly fee covers accommodation at Päivölä and full board. On every full day at Päivölä this means a nourishing breakfast, lunch, afternoon coffee and a snack, dinner and an evening snack.
Students can also use Päivölä’s gym and the swimming pool next to the sauna free of charge. There is a sports field nearby as well.
Books, travel home and study trips are at the student’s own expense.
