Research project

What the research project is for

Every second-year student does a research project, and the keenest do one in their first year as well. Students explore an interesting topic in depth and learn to find information, write, think critically and manage a project – skills that pay off especially at university. One aim is to enter TEK’s Kipinä competition, the Finnish national science competition for young people (formerly TuKoKe). It has often led our students on to international competitions such as the European Union Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS) and the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).

Topics

Topics have ranged from mathematics and computer game strategies, through all sorts of physics, to interior design and the themes of hymns. No one could call them narrow.
